Proper posture, less pain!

Proper posture, less pain!

We can all agree that body pain while lashing sucks and to all of my fellow lash artists I thought I’d provide some tips to help reduce the chances of having body pain during your next client appointment.

Have a short chair and a high table.

If an artist uses a high chair and a low table then there will be stress placed on the neck, shoulders and back. The height of the table should hit the lash artist’s chest and the elbows should rest comfortably on the lash table.

Maintain a proper distance from the client.

The lash artist’s chest should be touching the edge of the lash table. During appointments, clients tend to move further away from the artist so as an artist it is important to not be afraid to communicate with your client that they need to move up. Having the proper distance between the lash artist and the client will allow the lash artist to work more efficiently by giving them a better view of the bases of the lashes.

Tilt your head only slightly.

Lash Artists should only tilt their head slightly as the more the head is tilted, the more strain will be placed on the neck.

Good posture, better eyesight.

When too much stress is placed on the neck and shoulders this will cause the lash artist to start having weakened eyesight.

Now that you know the proper posture, you can now lash comfortably and reduce the chances of having body pain during your next client appointment!
